Verdict: Blackburn’s season seems set for heartbreaking relegation, firmly rooted in the drop zone already, surely a new manager is needed to turn things around.
The Venky’s have stubbornly yet admirably in some ways stuck by Steve Kean, who is doing what he can with a squad thin on quality. The signing of Yakubu was a real coup, and his five goals already is a decent return. The club’s 4-3 win over Arsenal was a highlight, but since then the club have regressed, failing to hold onto a lead against Norwich being a particular low point.
