Golf and celebrities seem to go hand in hand in the modern era as the sport is enjoying a surge in popularity not seen for years.
Golf has always been a big sport but with the rise of YouTube and huge names in America like Steph Curry and more recently, Lebron James, getting into the sport it proves just how big golf can be.
Of course, the likes of Michael Jordan and Justin Timberlake are also keen golfers, as key figures from all industries get involved.
One of those who has taken to the sport in more recent times is former One Direction band member, Niall Horan.

The popular Irishman has turned up and appeared at numerous pro-ams in recent years and in fairness, is a more than capable golfer.
Still, he’s no professional and like every amateur, inconsistency creeps in.
Nevertheless, Horan is one of the lucky lot who has played Augusta National and when it came to his score around The Masters venue, it’s pretty impressive.
How Niall Horan got on when he played golf at Augusta National
Horan is very much a keen golfer and he’s spent a long time in recent years improving and honing his craft.
As part of his celebrity lifestyle, he’s afforded chances many of us mere mortals aren’t, and one of them is the chance to play around Augusta National.
Indeed, when Horan first got his chance to play there, he did more than okau.
“The things that I’ve been able to do through golf are just insane. But yeah, I’ve been lucky enough to have played Augusta on a few occasions now and you know the way you play some course and go, ‘well I’ve done it now, ticked that box’, this one is just on a different planet. It’s like nothing on earth. It’s what I imagine heaven to look like,” Horan revealed previously.
“The first time I played it was I standing on the 18th needing a par for a 78 and then doubled the last. I shot 80, which is still not too bad, eight-over, but I’m a much better golfer now, so to break 80 is the big aim now.
“If you treat it as a normal golf course, it’s score-able. But it’s very hard to treat it as just another course. When you get on that first tee your grip gets tighter and it all becomes a little tense because you always want to play well on a great course. You kill yourself just thinking about it.”
With The Masters gradually creeping into view as we hurtle towards 2026, it will be interesting to see if Horan can indeed get below 80 if he goes and plays again.
If he does, then he can class himself as a more than capable golfer.
