Sami Valimaki wrapped up the 2025 PGA Tour season in style, holding off Max McGreevy to win The RSM Classic by a single shot.
Valimaki finished on 23-under, edging past McGreevy at Sea Island Golf Club to pick up his first career win on the PGA Tour.
Ricky Castillo took third place at 21-under, while three others ended in a tie for fourth after finishing on 19-under.
Valimaki deserved all the praise that came his way, sealing the title with rounds of 66, 62, 65 and 66. It marked another strong finish to a PGA season in Georgia.
Finland claim historic first PGA Tour win through Sami Valimaki
Valimaki’s victory was not just a personal milestone. It marked Finland’s first-ever win on the PGA Tour, a breakthrough moment for the country.
Reflecting on the achievement, the Finnish star said: “It has been a long road, of course.
“I feel like it’s a really tough year even when I kind of played decent golf, and then to keep pushing and find some good grooves in the last few tournaments, it feels amazing.”

Sami Valimaki locks up two-year PGA Tour exemption with win at The RSM Classic
After just missing out at the World Wide Technology Championship with a T2 finish, Valimaki’s breakthrough on the PGA Tour felt overdue.
This season, he has one win and one runner-up from 26 starts, along with four top-10s and nine top-25 finishes.
His victory secures a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour, and by finishing 51st in the FedExCup, he earns spots in the first two $20 million Signature Events of 2026.
The 27-year-old’s story is even more impressive considering he missed the cut at this year’s PGA Championship, his only major appearance of the season.
What tournaments are left on the 2025 schedule?
The Hero World Challenge, hosted by Tiger Woods, is next up on the 2025 golf calendar.
World number one Scottie Scheffler will be there as a two-time defending champion, adding more buzz to an already anticipated event.
Following that is the Grant Thornton Invitational, which brings together players from both the men’s and women’s tours. Still, much of the focus has already shifted towards what lies ahead in the 2026 PGA Tour season.
