Ben Foster has admitted that he ‘loves’ playing at Villa Park after his Watford side beat Aston Villa over the weekend.

The Watford keeper hailed the Villa Park ‘roar’ and added that the atmosphere is ‘incredible’, as he told his Cycling GK YouTube channel.

Roy Hodgson’s side, who had yet to win a game since his appointment or score a goal, rocked up to the West Midlands and secured all three points.

In truth, it was a lacklustre and pretty average performance from both sides, but Emmanuel Dennis was the difference-maker on the day.

Foster has been sharing an insight into what it’s like for a professional footballer building up to and after games.

And this is what he had to say about Villa Park:

“I have got to say that I love playing in this stadium,” said Foster. “The atmosphere is incredible.

“There is something about playing in these old school stadiums. The roar. Absolutely everything.”

It has been a mixed time for Steven Gerrard ever since he replaced Dean Smith in the dugout.

Things have started to go wrong of late, but that’s why he was brought in the first place.

There were a number of changes made to the squad during the January transfer window.

And, come the summer, it wouldn’t be a surprise if more players head for the exit door because some of them aren’t showcasing the standard that matches the club’s ambitions.
