Coveted Burnley boss Sean Dyche is reportedly the number one target to replace Ronald Koeman as the next Everton manager.
Everton have placed David Unsworth in temporary charge after sacking Koeman following the 5-2 defeat to Arsenal last month.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche is the favourite to be the next man at the Toffees helm having impressed by establishing the Clarets as a competitive Premier League side against the odds.
Dyche has proved a hard nut to crack for the media, though, remaining coy on the links in various press conferences and interviews.
But could comments he made during the summer – when Michael Keane was sold to the Goodison Park outfit – give an indication as to whether he would be interested in the job?
“It’s just a natural progression (moving from Burnley to Everton),” Dyche said back in July, as reported by the likes of the Daily Star.
“It’s fair to say that Everton have been in the Premier League for a very long time and they’re looking to get even stronger.
“They’re making a big investment there now and it’s a right move at the right time (for Keane).
“There comes a time when it’s probably appropriate they move on and I think on this occasion it is.”
Whether Dyche sees things in the same way for himself as a manager remains to be seen.
But his comments will surely be encouraging for Everton’s owners if they are serious about approaching Dyche for the role.
