Norwich City fullback Jamal Lewis has called Daniel James the quickest player he has come up against after the winger all but completed his move to Manchester United from Swansea City, Sky Sports reports.

“He’s very quick! I’m quick and he was probably the quickest I played against last season. I saw him play against Man City and he was very good and I wish him all the best,” Lewis explained.

According to United’s official website, the Red Devils have agreed a deal in principle with Swansea and the player to bring the talented speedster to Old Trafford this summer.

The Daily Mail claims James will earn £67,000 per week at United, although it remains to be seen whether the Wales international will make many first-team appearances next term considering his lack of top-level experience.

Norwich ace Lewis believes he will become a top player, and the duo could do battle again next season after the Canaries earned promotion back to the Premier League after winning the Championship title.

Lewis managed to keep James relatively quiet as Norwich got the better of the Swans last term, winning 4-1 at the Liberty Stadium in November before securing a tighter 1-0 win at Carrow Road.

United will be hoping the former Shrewsbury Town man can continue his rapid progress at Old Trafford, and that he doesn’t feel fazed by it all unlike former winger Wilfried Zaha who struggled to make an impact.
