With the second international break now upon us, it seems a perfect time to assess the Premier League stats.

We have already taken a look at the best and worst performing teams in regards to defence, attack and passing.

That led us to look at the defenders to discover who was dominating in the key areas, with some surprising results coming to light.

While those have been the top performers, it is fair to say some of their fellow defenders in the league have not fared so well. So who have been the lowest scoring so far? We found out.

To make things fair, we only looked at the players who have amassed 90 minutes or more this season.

Middlesbrough’s Daniel Ayala has won the fewest tackles so far, with a tally of zero.

Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori, Watford player Younes Kaboul and, surprisingly, Chelsea captain John Terry are second with just one to their names.

Watford defender Juan Zuniga is lowest in terms of interceptions won, having managed none.

Crystal Palace’s Martin Kelly, Sunderland’s Paddy McNair and Manchester United’s Chris Smalling all sit second with scores of two.

When it comes to defensive duels won McNair is lowest with a score of ten, while Zuniga and Hull City’s Andrew Robertson are lowest in terms of aerial duels won having managed zero.

The Hornets man is once again bottom in terms of effective clearances as well as coming out bottom when it comes to effective aerial clearances.

Finally it is Smalling who is bottom for ball recoveries (8) while Funes Mori and McNair are level in second with nine.
