Tiger Woods and Donald Trump have a long-standing friendship that began long before his political career.

President Donald Trump’s golf fandom is well known, and he has played with the greatest golfer of all time, Tiger Woods, for years. Their relationship is such that Trump awarded Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States.

Tiger Woods is even in a relationship with Trump’s ex-daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, which the President gave his stamp of approval for.

During his first presidential term in 2019, Trump watched Woods play at The Masters. And he made a prediction about the 15-time major winner, which immediately came true.

Donald Trump’s 2019 Tiger Woods prediction

In 2019, Trump attended Augusta National to watch Woods at The Masters. He watched Woods, making another comeback from a series of back surgeries, look back to his brilliant best as he remained in contention for the victory.

Woods was chasing his first major championship since 2008, something that few thought he could ever accomplish. But after seeing his good friend in action, Trump was certain that he would go on to win another major championship.

He posted to Twitter, now X, “Everyone is asking how Tiger played yesterday. The answer is Great! He was long, straight & putted fantastically well. He shot a 64. Tiger is back & will be winning Majors again!”

Even Trump would probably have been surprised by how quickly that prediction came true. Woods won The Masters the very next day, completing one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history.

Donald Trump’s 2025 prediction on whether Tiger Woods will win another major

Trump welcomed Woods to the White House in February 2025 for Black History Month, and made yet another bold prediction.

He said the 49-year-old isn’t done winning majors: “I was with him a week ago, we played. I think he’s got some left, Adam (Scott) doesn’t he? Couple of Majors maybe. Maybe more than that.”

That’s becoming increasingly unlikely, as Woods revealed that he underwent his seventh back surgery in October this year. When he will make his return to the sport remains unknown.

If 2019 was an incredible achievement, Woods winning another major would be the single most impressive sporting achievement in history. Unfortunately for golf fans, they’d be lucky to see him even playing in an event any time soon.
