Yannick Bolasie has said on Twitter that Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa should not have sold Carney Chukwuemeka to Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Bolasie made the comments about Chukwuemeka while watching Villa in action against Nottingham Forest away from home at the City Ground in the Premier League on Monday evening.
The Reds and the Villans played out a 1-1 draw.
Steven Gerrard’s side are 16th in the Premier League table at the moment with nine points from nine matches, three points above the relegation zone.
Bolasie, who had a loan spell at Villa from Everton in 2018-19, believes that Chukwuemeka would have a great option for the Villans against Forest.
The 18-year-old midfielder joined Chelsea from Villa in the summer transfer window.
As reported by Sky Sports, Chelsea paid Premier League rivals Villa £20 million in transfer fees for the teenager.
Chukwuemeka has made one substitute appearance in the league for the Blues so far this season.
The 18-year-old made two starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Villa last season.
