Watch HITC Sport’s preview as Bournemouth prepare to travel to the current Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Bournemouth may go into their clash with Premier League leaders Chelsea off the back of a defeat, but perhaps there is one positive that can be taken from the 3-1 loss to Southampton.
HITC Sport’s James Rutherford and Michael Ramsey have suggested that the disappointment from the defeat to their south coast rivals can be viewed positively.
“I was really disappointed with them against Southampton,” James said.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe
“For what you were saying about them being poor against Southampton, we should give Bournemouth credit though. They’ve had a great season,” Michael added.
“Saying they were poor against Southampton shows how far they’ve come because people actually expect something from them,” James responded.
Eddie Howe may well be telling his players to view the defeat to the Saints in that same manner as they will certainly need all the confidence they can get going into Boxing Day.
The Blues have won their last 11 games in the top flight and go into Christmas with a six point lead over their nearest rivals at the top of the table.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte
What makes Bournemouth’s job all the more daunting is the fact that that run Antonio Conte’s men have enjoyed has included a staggering nine clean sheets.
But the Cherries will also remember that they silenced Stamford Bridge last season as Glenn Murray’s goal gave them a 1-0 win.
But what do Michael and James expect from the game?
