The results from HITC Sport’s poll looking at the players that Sheffield Wednesday fans want their club to target this week are in, but which player did 73% of Owls fans who responded vote for?

3. Andre Sousa (8%)

Just ahead of Ross McCormack and Emilio Izaguirre – who received four and five percent of the vote respectively – is midfielder Andre Sousa. The Belenenses man has not enjoyed the best campaign so far, so it is perhaps hardly a surprise that he received such a small share of the vote.
2. Matty Taylor (10%)
Matty Taylor has scored 16 times for Bristol Rovers in League One this season, and given that he was similarly ruthless in the fourth tier last year, it would not shock many if he was able to make the step up to the Championship and subsequently thrive. Although he came second in the poll, the share of the votes he got suggests that it would not capture the imagination of Owls supporters if he did arrive at Hillsborough.

Despite Jordan Rhodes’ struggles since he arrived at Middlesbrough, a staggering 73 percent of Owls supporters would like to see Carlos Carvalhal land the former Blackburn man before the window shuts next week. With just 31 goals coming in 27 league games, it is not difficult to see why Sheffield Wednesday supporters appear to want a new striker brought in to aid their promotion push. But could Rhodes be the man to answer their prayers?
