Aston Villa take on Burton Albion, Leeds United, Cardiff City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Preston North End in their next five matches.

We attempt to predict the results of Aston Villa’s next five Championship matches.

Burton Albion (home) – 2-0 win

Most of Burton’s success since being in the Championship has come at the Pirelli Stadium. Nigel Clough’s side have been fairly poor away from home, and Villa should comfortably get past them here.

Leeds United (home) – 2-1 win

Villa will want revenge for their defeat at Elland Road, and although Leeds are a genuine promotion contender, Steve Bruce’s men may just edge this one.

Cardiff City (away) – 1-1 draw

Cardiff may be struggling at the wrong end of the table, but Neil Warnock’s side are never an easy opponent to face. If Villa can pick up a draw here, they can class it as a positive result.

Wolverhampton Wanderers (away) – 2-2 draw

Paul Lambert has made an indifferent start to life at Wolves, and his side have been very unpredictable this campaign.

Wolves have quality in their squad, but the vast amount of changes they made last summer haven’t had the desired impact yet.

Wolves do have the talent required to trouble Villa though, and this could be a high scoring encounter, with both teams chasing the victory.

Preston North End (home) – 1-0 win

Preston are a solid team at Championship level, and Simon Grayson’s side have proven a test for most teams that they have faced.

However, Villa have been much improved at Villa Park of late – and they should have enough to get the three points here.
