Leeds United’s man of the moment Stuart Dallas has told Sky Sports that Raphinha and Helder Costa’s pace gave him hope that his side could pull off an upset against Manchester City.
Leeds beat City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium at the weekend, despite playing the entirety of the second half with just 10 men.
Dallas was Leeds goalscorer on both occasions, with his last minute goal sparking wild celebrations.
Dallas burst forward from deep in injury time to score, which showed his unbelievable levels of fitness.
But he may have been motivated by the fact that he never stopped believing.
Leeds had both Costa and Raphinha starting out wide in the contest, and the speed that the two possess was part of the reason why Dallas had faith that his side could still collect a positive result, despite their numerical disadvantage.

He said: “I always felt that if we could have a bit of composure on the ball we would get a chance on the break because they were committing so many men forward and with the pace that we have in Raphinha on one side and Costa on the other, I always felt that we could get a chance.
“And when Rafa goes through you’re hoping that’s the one, but he doesn’t, so then you have to dig in again and you’re hoping we can get one more chance, and thankfully we were able to do that.”
Leeds’ win over City has propelled them into the top half, which is quite the achievement in their first season back in the Premier League.
Leeds are next in action on Monday evening, when they take on Liverpool at Elland Road.
