Jamie Carragher was raving about Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe on Sky Sports Premier League (9:19pm, October 22, 2021) while watching him against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium this evening.
Emile Smith Rowe’s performance
Arsenal took on Villa at home in the Premier League tonight.
It was a pretty comfortable win for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Smith Rowe provided the assist for Thomas Partey’s goal, and himself found the back of the net in the 56th minute with the aid of a deflection.
Jamie Carragher impressed
Former Liverpool defender Carragher was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports, and he was impressed by the 21-year-old, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.
Carragher said about Smith Rowe in the 57th minute: “He is as good as anyone in this league when he is running with the ball, can use both feet, never looks like he is out of control, the pace with which he can run with the ball at his feet, we don’t see it too often.”

Big player for Arsenal
Smith Rowe is one of the best attacking players in the Premier League and is a key figure at Arsenal.
The 21-year-old was brilliant against Villa tonight and showed why the Villans were so desperate to sign him in the summer transfer window.
The youngster started on the left, but he often drifted in and created chances for his teammates.
Arsenal have a gem in Smith Rowe, and, in our view, he is not going anywhere anytime soon.
