Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been speaking about Dele Alli and his future at Tottenham Hotspur.
The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Spurs for a couple of years now, but for one reason or another, a move away from north London has never materialised.
Alli is stuck in a rut at Spurs, and Ferdinand claims that he has to ask Tottenham to leave the club now.
What’s Ferdinand said about Alli?
The pundit gave his view on the Spurs man.
“I think Dele, if we can go back to him. I think the onus is on him now really. I think he needs to go to Spurs and say ‘please help me get out now’. If he’s not doing that right now I’d be surprised. For both parties it’s better for him to go I think, for him to start playing and to start showing what he’s about. A happy, vibrant Dele Alli is an asset to most clubs,” Ferdinand said.

Should be desperate
Ferdinand is absolutely right, Alli should be asking to leave Tottenham as soon as possible.
Alli’s career has seriously stalled in recent years, and that doesn’t look like changing under Antonio Conte.
Alli is an incredibly talented player, but he’s in danger of being remembered as a footballer who never reached their potential if he doesn’t kick on soon.
Alli should be desperate to play as much football as possible, and in order to do that, he has to get a move away from north London.
