Speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Micah Richards has expressed his concern about Leeds United being relegated for the first time this season.
As a local lad, Richards has a huge affinity for Leeds, and he’s always been of the opinion that the Whites would stay up this season.
However, after yet another win for Burnley at the weekend and a victory for Everton over Chelsea, Richards has conceded that he’s genuinely worried about Leeds, stating that this is the only time this season he’s felt this level of concern.

Richards spoke about Leeds’ form and their relegation chances.
“They’ve conceded the most now and it’s been poor, against Man City you have to make sure from set-pieces. They’re sloppy goals. Dallas will be a big big miss, and after having a couple of games under Marsch where they looked back on track, they’ve falled back into the old traps a little bit,” Richards said.
“I don’t like the way they’ve been conceding goals, you’re asking me if I’m worried. This is the only time now that I’ve been worried about Leeds, Everton beating Chelsea and Burnley being on this run that nobody expected, yeah, I am genuinely worried about Leeds now.”
Need something special
Burnley and Everton have pulled results from out of nowhere in recent weeks, and Leeds United need to follow suit if they’re to stay in the Premier League.
The Whites have two torrid games coming up against Chelsea and Arsenal, and you can’t help but feel that they’ll need to take at least one point from those two games to stay out of the bottom three.
Luckily, their last two games are against Brighton and Brentford, but even with a relatively easy final two games, United have found it tough to string two wins together all season.
Leeds are in trouble, and Richards probably isn’t the only concerned Yorkshireman at the moment.
