Liverpool fans on social media were largely disappointed after the Reds lost 2-1 to Brighton on Wednesday evening, but there was one positive to take away from the game.
Indeed, the Anfield faithful praised the performance of Caoimhin Kelleher after he came in for the absent Alisson Becker.
The youngster has had to step in for Alisson a number of times this season, and he’s impressed on numerous occasions, and that didn’t change on Wednesday.
Indeed, Kelleher was fantastic against Brighton, making a number of top-class saves, and if the Reds’ attack would have been a bit more clinical, we’d have been talking about Kelleher as a game-winner.
Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work out like that and Kelleher couldn’t keep every shot out of the net as Brighton won 1-0.
As you can imagine, Liverpool fans were furious with this result, but one positive the fanbase were able to take away from the game was Kelleher’s showing.
Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, so Kelleher had big shoes to fill, but he managed to step up brilliantly here.
