John Terry has told The Times that he would not take the Tottenham Hotspur managerial role, and does not think that he would be welcomed at West Ham United either.

In an extensive interview with The Times, Terry said that he is “always going to hate Tottenham”.

The Aston Villa assistant manager was asked if he would take the Spurs manager’s job.

The former England international defender said that he would not, adding that he would not be welcomed at West Ham either.

Terry told The Times: “Never take it. Never. Spurs is the only one I wouldn’t take. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be welcome at West Ham too.”

Terry has been the assistant manager at Villa since 2018 and has done well at the Villans.

One suspects that the 40-year-old will have ambition to become a manager himself.

However, it seems that Terry knows that it will not be at Spurs or West Ham.

Tottenham and West Ham fans do not particularly like Terry, who has now made it clear that he hates the North London club.

Tottenham are on the hunt for a new permanent manager following the sacking of Jose Mourinho last month.

Ryan Mason is in charge of Spurs now, but it is unlikely that the Englishman will be the manager after this weekend’s game.

It will be interesting to see which manager Tottenham bring in.
