Some Everton fans on social media have once again been praising Ben Godfrey after his performance against Brighton on Monday evening.
There wasn’t much for Everton supporters to shout about on Monday as they laboured to a 0-0 draw with Brighton, but Godfrey was the standout performer for the Toffees.
Godfrey was a brick wall at the back, making a number of crucial blocks and making sure that Brighton weren’t able to create any real clear-cut opportunities.
Unfortunately, the Merseyside club’s efforts up the other end left a lot to be desired as the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin was felt, with Richarlison not getting a single shot off in the game.
Sadly, this result has put a dent in Everton’s top four hopes, but with talented young players like Godfrey in the squad, they may be perennial challengers for years to come.
