Tottenham Hotspur are going to be without Jan Vertonghen for the next few weeks.

Any time a team loses a player as talented as Jan Vertonghen it is a blow.
For Tottenham, the timing of Vertonghen’s injury should soften the damage felt by the team.
Vertonghen missed Tottenham’s win at the weekend over Cardiff and now face being without the defender for the next six weeks, Premier Injuries report.
He is missing the upcoming international break, which in itself is no bad thing for Spurs.
When they get back a rested and recuperated Vertonghen, timing will be everything.

Premier Injuries report Vertonghen’s projected return date from his thigh injury is November 24.
This is to coincide with Tottenham’s home game with Chelsea, currently scheduled to take place at Wembley.
Days later Spurs host Inter Milan in the Champions League, a must win match after losing to the Italians at the San Siro.
That is followed immediately by an away fixture to North London rivals Arsenal.
If Vertonghen was to miss these three games, it would put a very different spin on the injury, but if he can return as scheduled, his comeback will be a perfectly timed boost to manager Mauricio Pochettino.
