Few clubs have done as much for producing English talent as Tottenham in recent seasons, with Josh Onomah the latest to have impress at Under-21 level.
Tottenham Hotspur have produced a huge number of England internationals in recent years, coming alongside the club’s development into a Premier League powerhouse.
A great many of the players that have stepped up to win full international honours over the last few seasons cut their teeth at Under-21 level, and this was continued on Tuesday when 19-year-old midfielder Josh Onomah scored in his first appearance at that level.
Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker have all become full England players at Spurs, while in recent years Andros Townsend, Jake Livermore, Ryan Mason and Steven Caulker have also done the same.

While it may be a while before Onomah steps up to the senior Three Lions side to join his teammates, it may not be so long before one of Tottenham’s other young talents makes it to Under-21 level, the next stage of their development.
Below are three who could be the next in line to appear for England Under-21s:
Harry Winks
The 20-year-old midfielder has seemed to have developed considerably since his handful of minutes in the two previous seasons. Having visibly bulked up, Winks demonstrated in a series of pre-season matches against big name opposition that he is now an option for Mauricio Pochettino in central midfield. It convinced the Argentine to let Ryan Mason leave and it has seen him named on the bench in all but one of the Premier League fixtures.

Technically impressive and displaying improved defensive qualities, if he gets a run of games this season, there is plenty of indication that he will impress, which in turn could see him step up to the England Under-21s.
Marcus Edwards
Arguably one of the most exciting teenagers in English football, Edwards is not as close to the first team as Winks, but arguably he has a higher ceiling and therefore the chance to explode onto the scene in the vein of Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford.

Still only 17-years-old, Edwards is likely to be given another chance in the upcoming League Cup match against Liverpool, and his performance will either suggest he deserves more first team chances or that he is still very much a raw talent.
Kyle Walker-Peters
The lesser known of the Kyle Walker fullbacks, Walker-Peters will have been disappointed not to have made his debut in the 5-0 win over Gillingham at the last round of the League Cup, having been on the bench in the Premier League in the past. Rapid and versatile enough to feature at right or left back, the 19-year-old is currently with the England Under-20s, and is arguably Tottenham’s most talented youngster yet to make his first-team debut.

The England Under-21 squad currently has a number of 21 and 22-year-old defenders in the set up, and once they are overage, Walker-Peters will be one of those on the shortlist who could be stepped up and who could go on to full honours eventually.
