Fabrizio Romano has told the Last Word on Spurs podcast (8 minutes) that Tottenham Hotspur are still in the market for three more players this summer.

Jose Mourinho’s budget at Tottenham was only expected to be limited heading into the transfer window, but they have been efficient with their dealings so far.

Spurs have brought in Joe Hart, Matt Doherty and Pierre Hojbjerg and secured excellent value for money deals on all three.

It seems that Spurs are not finished yet though, and Romano thinks that Daniel Levy could be very busy towards the back end of the transfer window.

“I think they will go for a centre-back, for sure. I expect them to go for a centre-back on the transfer market,” Romano said.

“They are also considering the opportunity of a new winger.

“And absolutely a new striker because they need a back-up option for Harry Kane, so I think these three can be the next signings for Tottenham in the first days of October.

“Mourinho wants signings who are perfect for his idea of football.”

If Mourinho does bring in another three players it should leave Tottenham’s squad looking much stronger for next season.

Spurs have added Premier League experience to their squad already this summer, and the arrival of three further new players would give them great options in almost every position.

Tottenham disappointed last term, as they failed to make the Champions League, but if they can get their recruitment right in the coming weeks then they will have a real chance of breaking back into the top four over the upcoming campaign.
