West Ham United are reportedly in talks to sign Manchester City outcast Yaya Toure on a free transfer.
West Ham brought in former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini as their new boss last month.
Co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold have pledged to spend more than ever before in backing the Chilean after his arrival in East London.
So far the Hammers have signed Fulham right back Ryan Fredericks on a free transfer while Pellegrini has been linked with a host of other targets including Felipe Anderson, Javier Pastore, Rafinha, Marlon Santos and William Carvalho.
But according to The Daily Mail West Ham could make another free transfer signing in the shape of Toure, who played under Pellegrini at City.
Toure has barely featured for the Blues since Pep Guardiola’s arrival at the Etihad and turned 35 last month.
Ironically his only match action for several months will come in the shape of his participation in the Soccer Aid charity game being held this weekend.
The reported interest has not gone down particularly well with supporters with Blues fans dubbing West Ham ‘The Manchester City retirement village’.
