Christian Pulisic is one of the most valuable players in the USMNT, but his transfer value pales in comparison to some of football’s top stars.

Pulisic got his World Cup campaign off to a brilliant start when he helped his country win their opening match 4-1, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo for assists at the tournament in the process.

The former Chelsea winger picked up an injury in that tie but was still one of the most impressive players on the pitch.

Yet despite being a standout option for the USMNT, Pulisic only has a market value of €40m (around $46.3m).

Lamine Yamal and Erling Haaland ranked most valuable players at World Cup

Transfermarkt have compiled a list of every player competing at this summer’s World Cup and ranked them by market value.

Pulisic’s €40m fee sees him placed 122nd overall in their list, with fellow USMNT attacker Folarin Balogun joining him as the joint-most valuable player competing for the US at the World Cup.

Elsewhere, at the top end of the list, Spanish sensation Lamine Yamal has the joint-highest market value of €200m (around $231.9m).

Norway and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland joins Yamal at the top of the rankings.

The rest of the top five is made up by France’s Kylian Mbappe (€180m, which is around $208.7m), Spain star Pedri (€150m, which is around $173.9m) and France forward Michael Olise, who is also worth €150m.

From England, Jude Bellingham is the highest-ranked player (€130m, which is around $150.7m)

Meanwhile, from the other host nations this summer, Santiago Gimenez is Mexico’s most valuable player competing at the World Cup at €18m (around $20.9m).

Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies then takes top spot for Canada with a €40m (around $46.3m) valuation.
