Talleres chairman Andres Fassi has warned Manchester City that Diego Valoyes will not come cheap amid reported interest from the Premier League challengers, while speaking to Mundo D.
It remains to be seen whether City see Valoyes as a player capable of challenging Riyad Mahrez or Raheem Sterling for a first-team berth at the Etihad, or whether the skillful winger will instead be loaned to one of their many sister clubs around the world.
City farmed out fellow South Americans Nahuel Bustos, Marlos Moreno and Yan Couto last summer and it seems more than likely that Valloyes will follow in their footsteps.
At 24, the Colombian is no fresh-faced wonderkid – he is an established, senior player who, until recently, hadn’t really caught the eye outside of South America.
Nonetheless, Fassi believes that Valoyes has a bright future after lighting up the Diego Maradona Cup.
“Valoyes has been the best forward of the tournament,” Fassi said when asked if City are really interested in the gifted attacker. “There are offers for six players.

“I assure you that, in the future, players like (Federico) Navarro and Valoyes will be among the most expensive in Argentine football.
“We have many players, but these two, who are becoming more established, will be among the most valued players in Argentine football.”
There are a lot of questions surrounding City’s apparent interest in Valoyes and another surrounds the fees involved (Primer Tiempo).
How much the exciting attacker will cost remains a mystery.
And, in truth, the smart money is on Valoyes spending most of his time as a City player out at Girona or maybe under the bright lights of New York City.
