Pep Guardiola has claimed that Arsenal have been the ‘most difficult’ team Manchester City have faced during their 12-game winning run, as he told his presser.
On Saturday, the Premier League title holders beat Chelsea 1-0 at the Etihad to make it 12 wins on the bounce in England’s top-flight this season.
During that period, Man City have had some difficult moments, showcased pure brilliance, wiped the floor with some teams and rode their luck with others.
Arsenal fans will feel they fall in the latter category after they were controversially beaten in stoppage-time to a Rodri goal.
After Guardiola spoke about his side’s ‘amazing’ run, he shared how his team were ‘very lucky’ against the Gunners.
“That is amazing,” said Guardiola. “That’s the reason why we are here. On the 1st of December, I think, we were one point behind Chelsea and now we are 13 points ahead. It has been an incredible run.
“I think Arsenal was the most difficult one because we didn’t have energy, especially here (points to his head). End of December. Points advantage. We played two days before at Brentford.
“It was so tough after two days. We were lucky. But the rest of the games, we were there.”

Arsenal may have suffered two defeats to Man City this season, but there has been massive improvements, even though it’s still not enough.
From getting well and truly outclassed at the Etihad earlier on in the campaign, they should have probably won their recent encounter.
These are just small signs that this young and hungry Arsenal team is making improvements.
But there is still a long way to go and there will be a few more bumpy roads along the way for this ever-progressing side.
