Despite a strong start to the season, the Golden State Warriors had a setback in their recent loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Even so, there’s no sense of concern within the team.
Milwaukee’s win was all the more surprising as they did it without Giannis Antetokounmpo. Former Warriors guard Ryan Rollins stepped up with 32 points and eight assists, leading the Bucks to a 120-110 victory.
The game proved tricky for Golden State, who ran into a motivated side despite their short-handed roster. Missing star players often have that effect, and Rollins took full advantage of his opportunity.
Some teams might let a result like this affect them, but Steve Kerr and his squad aren’t dwelling on it. They’re already shifting focus to their next game against the Indiana Pacers on November 1.
Steve Kerr didn’t feel the defeat was a major setback
Losing to a Bucks team missing its top player isn’t an easy result to take, but with an 82-game schedule, Kerr isn’t letting one night define anything. The Warriors simply didn’t play to their usual standard and paid the price for it. Still, Kerr doesn’t see any reason to make more of it than necessary.
It wasn’t the best outing for players like Buddy Hield and Quinten Post either, who struggled to provide enough punch against a determined opponent. But overreacting isn’t in the plan. The focus now shifts back to preparing for their next challenge.
Kerr, together with experienced players like Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, and Al Horford, is well-versed in moving past setbacks quickly. This is just another example where he’s choosing to look ahead rather than linger on what went wrong.

Even with a disappointing loss to the Bucks, the Golden State Warriors are still in good form, sitting with a 6-3 record early in the season. Coach Steve Kerr isn’t dwelling on it and is keeping his focus on the bigger picture.
Kerr understands there will be ups and downs throughout a long season, especially when playing against so many quality teams in the league. The Western Conference is deep this year, with even teams like Portland and San Antonio showing improvement.

The Warriors have enough experience to stay level-headed through stretches like this. Their core group has seen it all before and knows how to keep things steady until they find their best form again.

Kerr didn’t sound worried about his team’s performance during his appearance on 95.7 The Game, where he gave Milwaukee credit for how they played while highlighting some of his own team’s mistakes.
“I don’t think we had a letdown, personally. I think, honestly, we just weren’t sharp,” Kerr said. “And Milwaukee played a phenomenal game.”
Kerr stayed focused on what comes next rather than dwelling on one result. He mentioned that giving up easy transition baskets was something they needed to fix before their next matchup against Indiana.

The Western Conference remains tough as ever this year, but Kerr believes his team has enough quality and experience to compete with anyone when they’re locked in defensively.
