Novak Djokovic is, in the eyes of many, the greatest tennis player to have ever lived.

That is likely why his presence commands so much interest and draws some of the biggest names on the planet to the sport.

Particularly at Wimbledon and the US Open, celebrities flock to catch a glimpse of the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

However, not everyone gets the chance to actually play with him.

Niall Horan, most famous for his stint in the band One Direction, is one of the lucky few to have had that pleasure.

Taking to Instagram all the way back in 2014, the Irish singer was keen to tell the world about his private session with Djokovic.

After all, what a privilege it must have been to play alongside a man who, just the year prior, had reached the final of three of the four Grand Slams.

Almost apologising to the legendary veteran, Horan admitted: “I was terrible ! But was an amazing experience to play with the number 1 tennis player in the world ! Just incredible ! Thank you to all of you guys, coz if it wasn’t for you , I wouldn’t be able to do amazing stuff like that.”

He has been pictured at numerous events watching the tennis, highlighting just how big a fan of the sport he is.

What other celebrities have spoken about Novak Djokovic?

However, Horan is far from the only celebrity to be pictured enjoying the tennis, despite being one of the few to have played with someone of Djokovic’s calibre.

Matthew McConaughey is arguably one of the biggest names to regularly follow the sport, pictured at events like the US Open and Wimbledon.

He has even been pictured in Djokovic’s box in the past too, and has been a vocal supporter of compatriot Jessica Pegula.

Other stars who have been pictured watching the 39-year-old over the years include Hugh Jackman, Ben Stiller, Hugh Grant and Bon Jovi.
