
Liverpool fans have expressed their displeasure on Twitter at Alan Shearer’s Team of the Week containing none of their players.
Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at Anfield over the weekend, with the likes of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Naby Keita getting on the scoresheet.
But that wasn’t enough for Shearer to include any Liverpool player in his TOTW, as you can see below on the Premier League’s official Twitter account.
Liverpool supporters are fuming that Salah doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves and they think that he should have been selected.
Not only was he outstanding against a resilient and upbeat Palace side, but he has, once again, started the season like a house on fire.
There is the feeling amongst some fans that Salah gets disrespected too much by the media and should be recognised a bit more.
Over the course of the first five Premier League matches, he has scored four goals in his five league matches – not forgetting that he has surpassed 100 Premier League goals.
There’s no doubt that he will be hunting down that Golden Boot from Harry Kane because it’s in his locker, at this moment in time.
And whilst the direct challenge might not come from the Tottenham man during these early stages – he is yet to score a league goal this term.
It is certainly coming from two new arrivals in Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku.
