Moussa Sissoko labelled his Tottenham teammate Pierre-Emile Højbjerg as ‘the machine’ on Instagram following their 2-1 win against Brighton last night.

Both players started for Spurs in the middle of the park and helped secure the three points and send the club second in the Premier League table.

Initially, it looked like Brighton were the ones who were going to score the winner, but Gareth Bale’s introduction in the second-half saw him head home the points.

This is what Sissoko posted on his Instagram page about Hojbjerg, as he labelled him ‘the machine’.

Serge Aurier, who was left out of the matchday squad, was also reacting in the comments section and also spoke in awe of his teammate: ‘the boss with class’.

Following Thursday’s disappointing Europa League defeat to Royal Antwerp and Jose Mourinho’s critical reaction, this response is a very good sign for the fans.

Whilst Mourinho is still trying to get the best out of his back-up players, he is well aware that he has a group of regulars that he can rely on.

Tanguy Ndombele is a prime example of someone who can pick themselves up from the floor and prove the manager wrong.

Can those players dropped from Thursday’s defeat show a similar reaction because if they do then it will bode well for squad strength in the future?

Either way, that opening day defeat to Everton and that deflated and annoyed reaction from fans seems a long time away now.
