Darren Bent told talkSPORT that Mesut Ozil has disrespected Arsenal with his social media posts about Fenerbahce.

As things stand, Ozil is an Arsenal player, but it’s pretty clear that will be coming to an end during these coming days.

The German playmaker hasn’t played a single minute of football this season and the £42 million said goodbye to his teammates on Sunday, as reported by BBC Sport.

Prior to Bent stating on talkSPORT about Ozil disrespecting Arsenal, he shared his thoughts on Sky Sports about how he should have left the club earlier.

“To do that for 10 months, just train and train without playing, I don’t think I could have done it,” said Bent. “So, I am quite surprised Ozil felt like that.

“He would have had conversations and Arteta would have said ‘look, there is no way back for you and in the summer if you can get out’. The fact that he didn’t do that, it surprised me a little bit.

On changing his profile picture on social media to the colours of Fenerbahce: “Hold on and he’s not even signed yet?

“The level of disrespect for Arsenal. He’s not even signed yet. Changing his Twitter posts and his Instagram and all that. He’s not even had his medical yet, has it?”

Ozil’s legacy has been dampened at Arsenal because of how he has performed during the latter years of his career at the Emirates.

Arsenal fans will remember the good times, but from the outside, it will feel as though he hasn’t fulfilled the potential he has in his boots.

But the left-footed magician does leave the Premier League having created the most chances in a single season and in a single game.
