Leeds United currently have a number of players out on loan, but who stands the best chance of success upon returning to Elland Road?

The results from HITC Sport’s poll looking for the Leeds United loanee fans expect to make the greatest impact upon their return to Elland Road are in. But which currently exiled player came out on top?

Here is a look at the top three in reverse order…

3. Alex Purver (18%)

The likes of Giuseppe Bellusci (3%), Toumani Diagouraga and Lee Erwin (4%), and Jordan Botaka (10%) all missed out on a place in the top three, with Alex Purver taking nearly a fifth of the vote. Purver’s time at Guiseley allowed him to get plenty of first-team football under his belt, and a section of supporters seem to want him to be given a chance at some stage.

2. Jack McKay (25%)

Pulling in a quarter of the vote, Jack McKay is clearly highly thought of by Leeds supporters. He has made five appearances for Scottish side Airdrie, and scored his first goal for the club in his most recent appearance. If he improves his strike-rate during his time with the club, then perhaps he will start to put himself on Monk’s radar as the manager looks to provide Chris Wood with greater support.

1. Luke Murphy (35%)

Though Monk is clearly unsure about whether Luke Murphy is the right kind of player for him, a large portion of the Whites fans who voted seem to feel that he should still have a role to play once he returns from Burton Albion.

Leaving struggling 21-year-old out of Leeds’ next two games could be mistake

At his best, Murphy appeared to have the ability to dictate Championship games, but Monk has rarely got anything wrong during his time at Elland Road and his frequent omission from the squad may have perhaps simply been down to his suitability for the system Leeds play rather than Monk doubting Murphy’s talent.
