Manchester United are on the hunt for a new striker in the summer transfer window, and Roy Keane thinks that Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins could do a good job for Erik ten Hag’s side.
Ollie Watkins is one of the best players for Aston Villa and has been playing well for a while now. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is a big fan.
The £28 million (Sky Sports) striker has scored 56 goals and given 23 assists in 137 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
Watkins has scored 16 goals and given 10 assists in 28 Premier League matches for Villa this season.
The 28-year-old striker scored 15 goals and gave six assists in 36 Premier League starts for the Villans last season.

Manchester United legend Roy Keane believes that Watkins is good enough to play for Erik ten Hag’s side.
The Sky Sports pundit has also said that the England international could star for Liverpool or Manchester City.
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins is good enough for Manchester United
Keane said about Watkins on Sky Sports, as transcribed by Metro: “He could play for one of the top teams, couldn’t he?
“Villa are a top team but you’re talking about bigger clubs in Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City. That’s a compliment to him, not that he has to leave Villa. But he’s capable of doing it.
“The kid is so sharp, he has a great shape to him, His movement is as good as any striker in the Premier League. He’s having an amazing season.”
My View: Aston Villa may not sell Ollie Watkins
HITC reported in February that Manchester United are keen on signing a striker and believe that former Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is the ideal option.
It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils look at a potential deal for Watkins if they are unable to sign Kane from Bayern Munich.
I do not think that Villa will be too keen on selling Watkins in the summer of 2024, especially if they finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
And, if Unai Emery’s side end up in the UEFA Champions League, then Watkins himself may not be too keen on leaving Villa Park.
