Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Dean Jones has been discussing Tottenham Hotspur’s managerial situation and the clamour for Mauricio Pochettino to return to north London.

Ever since his departure, there have been rumours about Pochettino returning to Spurs, and according to Jones there are in fact some people working at the club who want the Argentine back.

Indeed, the journalist says that some Spurs employees want Pochettino back because they miss the harmony and happiness he brought to the place, stating that he always noticed how happy and welcoming Pochettino was when he used to visit Spurs’ training ground under his management.

Some miss Pochettino’s environment

Jones shared just why Pochettino’s return is being backed.

“They need to find some harmony within the club. That’s the impression I get why so many people that work at Tottenham are so keen on the idea of Pochettino returning. It was such a nice environment, it was such a good place,” Jones said.

“I spent a lot of time actually at the Tottenham training ground when Poch was there. He’d walk around with a smile on his face, he’d make people feel welcome. I doubt it’s the same under Conte, it doesn’t sound like it’s the same. I think people want to feel differently to how they’re genuinely being made to feel.”

Happy camp is important

It’s no surprise to see that Spurs have been struggling as of late if people don’t feel happy coming into work at Tottenham

You’re never going to do your job to the best of your ability if you dread going to work, and it sounds as though Conte hasn’t cultivated the right environment in north London.

Yes, he’s a driven manager who is obsessed with winning, but sometimes putting a smile on everyone’s face is more important than any fitness drill or video analysis.

Whether or not Pochettino returns to replace Conte remains to be seen, but don’t be surprised if Spurs’ next manager is someone who is famed for his man-management abilities.
