Liverpool and Arsenal faced each other in the Premier League at the weekend. The Reds took on the Gunners at Anfield on Saturday evening.

It promised to be very exciting and entertaining game of football. With both Liverpool and Arsenal having an attacking style, a few goals were also expected.

The match did prove to be brilliant. Arsenal conceded the first goal of the game on Saturday evening after just nine minutes when Roberto Firmino found the net.

Sadio Mane made it 2-0 to the home team on 40 minutes, and although Danny Welbeck halved the deficit in the 57th minute, Georginio Wijnaldum secured the three points for the Reds with his goal in the first minute of injury time.

The result means that Liverpool are now fourth in the Premier League table with 52 points from 27 matches, while Arsenal are two points behind in fifth. Arsene Wenger’s side, though, have a game in hand.

The following photo sums up the mood in the Liverpool and Arsenal camps. While Wenger and his Arsenal players must be bitterly disappointed with the final result, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and his team must be delighted.
