Helder Costa has told Super Sport that he is enjoying life after leaving Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United for Valencia.
Costa joined Valencia on loan from Leeds in the summer transfer window.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers is scheduled to stay on loan at the Spanish club until the end of the season.
Costa’s current contract at Leeds runs until the summer of 2024.
The 27-year-old told Super Sport: “I feel better here, I came from a not so good situation.But Valencia have given me the opportunity to relaunch my career and I think this is the ideal place to do that.
“I hope to be up to the challenge. I didn’t have continuity of games, but the coach has given me a chance and I want to make the most of it. I know I have to improve my weaknesses.”
No Leeds United future for Helder Costa
In our view, Costa does not have a future at Leeds.
Of course, in football never say never, but it is really hard to see the 27-year-old play under Bielsa at Leeds again.
Judging by his comments, the former Wolves winger – who earns £32,500 per week as salary, according to Spotrac – is enjoying playing for Valencia.
Costa struggled at Leeds last season, making only 13 starts in the Premier League.
The winger is starting to play well for Valencia this season.
The 27-year-old has made two starts and four substitute appearances in La Liga.
Leeds signed Daniel James from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
That was a clear indication that the Whites do not think that Costa will make it at Elland Road.
