Roy Keane has praised Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson, as a ‘great character’, as he told Sky Sports Premier League (10/04/22 at 4:25 pm).
The Premier League legend added that ‘the hunger is still there’ with Henderson, despite having multiple trophies to his name.
From that fresh-faced youngster that first arrived on Merseyside from Sunderland, it has been some journey for Henderson in Liverpool colours.
During the early part of the 31-year-old’s career, he struggled to make a name for himself at Anfield, before transforming into one of the club’s greatest ever captains under Jurgen Klopp.
It takes quite a lot to please Keane, but he is certainly a fan of both Liverpool and Man City, including their ‘world-class’ managers on the touchline.
“Players Jordan (Henderson) and de Bruyne,” said Keane. “They are great characters of the game. Experienced players of the game.
“They have won trophies, but their hunger is still there. Two world-class managers. Credit to both teams, they play a lovely brand of football.”

If any player epitomised Jurgen Klopp on the touchline compared to on the pitch, then it would be Henderson.
Whilst there is the ice-cool Virgil van Dijk behind him and the goalscoring freak, Mohamed Salah out on the wing.
It’s Henderson who is the leader of the pack and an underrated figure, both on and off the pitch.
The England international will be hoping, after lifting Liverpool’s first Premier League title in 30 years without fans, he can do it once more at a packed-out Anfield in May.
