It’s been a lot more bad than good for the Reds this campaign, in what has been a rollercoaster ride for fans to say the least.

As Nottingham Forest head into the international break, new manager Mark Warburton will be formulating a plan to keep the club in the Championship after a disastrous campaign.

Forest find themselves in 20th, one point above the relegation zone, in a season that’s been filled with lows, lows and more lows. There have been one or two highs however, and here are Forest’s highest and lowest point of the season so far.

Highest point – Nottingham Forest 2-2 Derby County, 18/03/2017

The fact that Forest’s highest point came at the weekend tells you everything about how bad their season has been. Mark Warburton’s first game in charge got off to a flyer when Zach Clough scored after just four minutes, and Forest looked a side that should be nowhere near the relegation zone in the first half. In the second however, it all became clear as East Midlands rivals Derby scored twice in six minutes to take the lead. However, deep in stoppage time, a Ben Osborn corner found an unmarked Dani Pinillos who powered home a header, and the left back’s equaliser sparked scenes of pure joy and emotion from the home fans – and players – that hadn’t been seen all season.

Lowest point – Oliver Burke sold to RB Leipzig, 28/08/2017

Just 24 hours after defeating Leeds United 3-1 at The City Ground, with the fans feeling a wave of optimism at how the season could unfurl, Forest’s campaign was ended there and then by owner Fawaz Al Hasawi, who decided to sell possibly Forest’s best ever academy graduate behind then manager Philippe Montanier’s back, which Montanier confirmed via the club website. From that moment onwards, Forest’s season was doomed, and even with Warburton in charge, it could get a lot worse before it gets better for the Trentside club.
