Jamie Carragher has joked on Sky Sports Premier League (7:25pm, February 24, 2023) that he is trying to get Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The Sky Sports pundit has jokingly said that he has been speaking to Neves and telling him to move to Liverpool.
The former Liverpool defender made the comments ahead of the Premier League match between Fulham and Wolves at Craven Cottage in London on Friday evening.
According to The Express, Carragher was caught on camera speaking to the 25-year-old Portugal international midfielder as he arrived in west London.
Neves has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Sport reported this month that Liverpool are among the clubs who are keen on signing Neves from Premier League rivals Wolves in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United, Newcastle United and Barcelona are also keen on the Portugal international, according to the report in the Spanish publication.

Jamie Carragher jokes about Liverpool target Ruben Neves
In the build-up to the match between Fulham and Wolves, Sky Sports presenter Kelly Cates jokingly said that Carragher was trying to tap up Neves.
Carragher replied: “No, no.”
Cates then make it clear that her comments were made in jest, saying: “We’re allowed to joke!”
Carragher said: “What goes on in the green room, stays in the green room, Kelly. We’ve all got little different avenues.”
As the joke went on, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville quipped: “He just doesn’t want to sit in Liverpool’s midfield!”
Neves is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League not to play for a top-six club at the moment.
We should not be surprised if the former FC Porto star does leave Wolves in the summer of 2023.
And we have no doubt that Neves would make Liverpool better and more dynamic in the middle of the park.
