Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman has often been spotted at high-profile Grand Slam matches throughout the years.

The X-Men icon has been in the Royal Box at Wimbledon, as well as at Flushing Meadows for the US Open.

Jackman has been in attendance for Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic’s matches in the past and he has made no secret of his adoration for the sport.

In 2017, the Academy Award-nominated actor challenged a Grand Slam winner to a tennis match via social media.

When Hugh Jackman challenged Novak Djokovic

Jackman might have been in attendance for Carlos Alcaraz and Djokovic’s Wimbledon final in 2023, but he actually challenged the latter to a match six years priors.

Six years before that Wimbledon final, Jackman posted a picture of him playing tennis to his social media account.

He wrote the caption: “Tennis anyone? and by anyone, I mean you Novak Djokovic!” to his 14 million followers.

Djokovic did not reply to the request, but an Australian tennis icon did try and take Jackman up on his invite.

Rennae Stubbs, who won five Grand Slams in doubles in the early 2000s, replied to the post to try and get in on the action.

The Australian replied: “Or me?”, but the Wolverine star did not reply to his compatriot.

Hugh Jackman attended the US Open 2025 semi-finals

While his match with Djokovic did not come to fruition, Jackman has continued his love affair with the sport.

Jackman was present for the US Open semi-finals this year, and he attended the event with former Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

The actor watched on as Jannik Sinner defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime and Carlos Alcaraz beat Djokovic at Flushing Meadows.

The 2025 US Open was won by Alcaraz, who defeated Sinner in another thrilling Grand Slam final between the two.
