Well, Andy Townsend was following the Premier League match between Arsenal and Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening, and the former Chelsea player was hugely impressed with Bukayo Saka.

The pundit has noted that Saka is the most important player for Arsenal and is the go-to man for the North London club.

The winger scored one of the goals for the Gunners in their easy win against Eddie Hpwe’s team. He has now scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 25 Premier League games this season.

Townsend said about Saka on Premier League Productions: ”He’s always the go-to man for this team, Martinelli and Odegaard play their part of course, but Bukayo Saka is the one. When he’s hot and he’s got the bit between his teeth, he just takes Arsenal to another level I think.”

My View: Bukayo Saka could become world class

In my opinion, Arsenal and England international winger Bukayo Saka could develop into a wold-class player. I do not think that Saka is at that level yet, but I believe that he will get there eventually.

Saka is only 22 and is remarkably consistent. He is very quick and skilful, and his decision-making is also laudable.

The winger has proved himself to be a top player in the Premier League. He has already made 160 appearances in the league in his career, scoring 44 goals and providing 33 assists in the process.

Saka is already ‘Premier League class’. If he does well for Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League season after season and performs against elite clubs such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, then he will be considered world class.
