Gary Neville told Sky Sports that Liverpool and Manchester United owners will ‘still be talking’ about how to ‘manoeuvre’ their failed European Super League bid.
Over the past week, Neville has been very outspoken at the role the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United’s owners have played in the recent ESL debacle.
Whilst Neville’s comments are slightly ironic given that they come from the ivory towers of Sky, his points have still been valid.
But the former right-back is adamant that these owners will come back to try and ‘extract wealth from the game’ despite the fiasco of the last few days.
“I don’t believe it has gone away,” said Neville. “These six clubs are still here. They will re-stocking at base. And reassessing their options. Looking at what they do next.
“The Glazer family will still be talking to FSG and Roman Abramovich and his representatives to Abu Dhabi. And Abu Dhabi will still be talking to the other clubs in Europe.
“These talks will still be going on. Not to bring them back to the table quickly. But they will be working out how they can manoeuvre into a position where they can extract wealth from the game.”

The simple power lies with those who have the authority to change laws and legislations so such a situation cannot occur again.
Sky allowed these sharks to enter the English footballing pool when they were involved in their own breakaway in 1992, so pardon the pun, but it’s a bit rich for them to speak.
Supporters have felt disconnected from football for far too long and it’s become more of the multi-millionaires or billionaires playground rather than the game for the working class.
