Mark Wright hailed Leeds United on Instagram as ‘the giant’ after making his professional debut for Crawley Town during his side’s FA Cup upset on Sunday.

The reality TV star, who came on as a late substitute, heaped praise on Crawley for beating a ‘very strong’ Leeds team 3-0 yesterday.

It was a day to forget for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, who were outclassed by the League Two outfit despite putting out a number of first-team players.

Nonetheless, this is what Wright shared on his Instagram account, with Robbie Keane responding to his message and stating that he is ‘delighted’ for him, whilst ex-players such as John Terry and Danny Murphy also congratulating him on his debut.

From Leeds’ perspective, you perhaps couldn’t make it up because they have been knocked out of the FA Cup by a team that are 62 places below them in the football pyramid.

Not only that, it is the first time in 34 years that a top-tier side has lost to a fourth-tier team by three or more goals.

Whilst some of it could have been dampened had Bielsa played the youngsters, they still had the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Kiko Casilla, Pablo Hernandez, Liam Cooper, Rodrigo, Ian Poveda, Helder Costa and Gjanni Alisoki starting.

Then to add to Leeds’ misery, they have to watch a reality TV star make his debut, as the Premier League side will be hoping to park this defeat and forget about it as quick as possible.
