Jannik Sinner wrapped up 2025 in stunning form, winning four of his last five tournaments after losing to Carlos Alcaraz at the US Open.

He picked up titles at the China Open, Vienna Open, Paris Masters, and the ATP Finals, doubling his tournament wins from the previous nine months.

He’s set to return at the 2026 Australian Open. Ahead of that, Sinner has been seen training with a two-time Grand Slam champion.

Sinner has already started getting ready for the new season, aiming to overtake Carlos Alcaraz as the world’s top-ranked player.

His coach, Darren Cahill, posted an Instagram video showing Sinner training with former world number one Simona Halep.

Halep called time on her career in February 2025 after playing at the Transylvania Open, where she faced Lucia Bronzetti.

The Romanian star finished her career with two Grand Slam titles – Roland Garros and Wimbledon – plus 22 other tournament wins.

Cahill spent three years working with Halep from 2016 to 2018, a partnership that included her first major title.

Sinner to face Alcaraz in South Korean exhibition ahead of Australian Open

While the Australian Open is expected to be Sinner’s first official tournament, he’ll have already played an exhibition match against Carlos Alcaraz a week earlier.

The pair will meet in Incheon, South Korea, on 10 January for the Hyundai Card Super Match, marking their first appearance in the country.

This meeting will be their 18th overall between ATP Tour and exhibition contests.

Their most recent exhibition came during the Six Kings Slam final, where Sinner won in straight sets.
