Having had time to process his departure from West Ham United James Collins has poured his heart out in an emotional message on social media.

West Ham’s 3-1 win over Everton in the season finale at the London Stadium was arguably one of club’s more memorable performances of the season.
Not just for the excellent display on the pitch but also the late cameo from Hammers hero James Collins, who was in floods of tears after a game which was his last for West Ham after an 11-year association with the East Londoners.
With his contract up Collins was told – whether by email or not depending on who you believe – his time was up this summer after two separate spells leaving many Hammers fans heartbroken to see him go.
The controversy surrounding exactly how the news was broken to the Ginger Pele has overshadowed his exit.

But now after taking time away to process his departure, Collins has taken to social media to post an emotional message to the club and its supporters.
“Just back from a break with my amazing family, had a lot of time to think,” Collins said on Instagram.
“Feel it’s now time to thank every member of staff and every player I’ve every worked with at West ham, I had an amazing 11 years at the club and can honestly say I gave my all in every training session and in every game I played and loved every minute of it.

“Everybody knows of the special relationship I’ve always had with the fans and a special thank you has to go to you all, you’ve all been incredible to me and my family from the moment I stepped foot in the club and I thank every single one of you from the bottom of my heart It’s now time to move on to a new challenge, new adventure and a new club where I will continue to give my all everyday.
“Thank you all again #comeonyouirons.”
If that doesn’t leave hardcore Hammers fans with a lump in their throat then nothing will.
Collins has been linked with a move to Middlesbrough and his first club Cardiff City.
Hammers fans will wish him luck wherever he ends up and hope to see him back at the club again one day perhaps in a coaching capacity.
