Danny Mills has said on talkSPORT (10:29am, July 1, 2022) that Leeds United should have held out for more money from Manchester City for Kalvin Phillips.
The former Leeds star believes that if the West Yorkshire club have held on for more, then they could have convinced Premier League champions Manchester City to pay more for the England international midfielder.
The Times have reported that Phillips will undergo a medical at City on Friday and will sign for the Premier League champions for £45 million.

Mills said on talkSPORT (10:29am, July 1, 2022): “I don’t think any Leeds fans will begrudge Kalvin Phillips going.
“I just look at the fee and go, it’s just on the lean side a little bit. If they had probably held out a little more, they probably could have squeezed a little bit more.”
Good deal?
In our view, Leeds United should have held out for a bit more from Manchester City for Kalvin Phillips.
Now, of course, £45 million for Phillips is a good deal for Leeds, but maybe the Whites should have bargained a bit more and made City pay more.
After all, it is only July 1 today, and there was still enough time for Leeds to make a deal for Phillips for a higher price.
Now, of course, Phillips himself may be keen on a switch to City, but it it is really hard to see the boyhood Leeds fan force a move away from Leeds.
