Nigel de Jong has predicted on beIN SPORTS that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are the favourites to win against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday evening.
Premier League giants Liverpool and La Liga powerhouse Madrid will lock horns with each other in the final of the 2022 UEFA Champions League at Stade de France in Saint-Denis this evening.
De Jong is a former Manchester City defensive midfielder who won the Premier League and the FA Cup once each with the Citizens.
The former Netherlands international midfielder believes that Liverpool are favourites for the UEFA Champions League final in Paris, but he is not writing off Madrid.

De Jong said on beIN SPORTS: “I think Liverpool is by far the favourites, I have to say, but Real Madrid, man, and the Champions League is a proper love story.”
Who’ll win the final?
In our view, Liverpool are the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid this evening, but only just.
Yes, Madrid have an unparalleled history in the competition, and they also got the better of Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City on their way to the final.
But, Liverpool have a better team, especially in attack.
We expect Liverpool to score a goal or two.
Having said that, we must note that Madrid have arguably the best striker in the world in Karim Benzema.
We saw in the earlier rounds how the striker destroyed PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City, and he could do the same to Liverpool tonight.
