Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Kevin Campbell has been discussing Bukayo Saka’s new contract and the reaction if he was to leave the club.
Saka is undoubtedly one of Arsenal’s best and most popular players, and, luckily, it looks as though he’s set to sign a new deal at the Emirates.
Saka had been linked with a move to either Manchester City or Liverpool, but now it looks like he’s set to stay in north London for the long term.
Campbell is very happy that Saka is set to stay, and he says that the club would have risked civil unrest if they had let the winger go at this point, claiming that fans would rip the club apart if he was sold.

Fans wouldn’t want Saka sold
Campbell discussed Saka’s new deal and the idea of him leaving.
“Look, it was always something the club were always going to do, let’s be fair. I think the fans would rip the club apart if we ever attempted to sell him. It’s good to know that the numbers are stacking up and the numbers are right and I can’t wait to see him with the pen when he signs the contract,” Campbell said.
Could you imagine
Campbell may be exaggerating a bit when speaking about the reaction if Saka was sold, but it’s fair to say that the fanbase wouldn’t be happy.
We’ve seen cross Arsenal fans over the years when the likes of Robin Van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor have been sold, but this would top the lot.
A homegrown talent who could genuinely go on to become the best in the world, Arsenal fans would be furious if the club cashed in on Saka.
However, luckily, it seems as though the England star is staying with the Gunners for the foreseeable future and this eventuality doesn’t have to be contemplated for quite a while.
