Mason Mount labelled the Leeds United fans as ‘brilliant’ and added that he loves playing at Elland Road after Chelsea’s 3-0 win on Wednesday night.
The ex-Derby County loanee, who did his old boss Frank Lampard a favour yesterday, added on Sky Sports that the Leeds fans ‘don’t like us too much’.
The Chelsea midfielder opened the scoring early on with a wicked finish into the top corner and things just became from bad to worse as the game went on for Leeds.
Just like against Arsenal over the weekend, Jesse Marsch’s men were down to 10 men again, this time it was Dan James getting an early shower.
After the game, Mount shared his thoughts on Leeds, their fans and playing at Elland Road again.
“It was a fun one,” said Mason. “I do love playing here. It’s a stadium with a lot of history.
“The fans are brilliant. They don’t like us too much, so it was a good atmosphere.
“But as soon as we got the goal. We kind of quietened the stadium down a little bit, and then we could play our stuff.”

Whilst this was the first time these Chelsea players have played at a packed-out Elland Road, it’s not the first time for Mount.
The Englishman played in one of the most dramatic games in Yorkshire when his then-Derby side knocked Leeds out of the Championship play-off semi-finals.
It was a second-leg encounter and one of the most action-packed games a supporter will see.
At the time, it was a joyful evening for Derby, Lampard and Mount, but that soon turned sour for the East Midlands side, who are now in League One.
