West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Club announced that Angelo Ogbonna had suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage.
What’s the story?
Well, this is devastating news for Ogbonna and West Ham.
The 3-2 win over Liverpool on Sunday was special, although this news has put a huge dampener on the excitement at the London Stadium.
Ogbonna was in the wars on Sunday, suffering a cut above the eye as well as knee damage, before he was substituted in the 22nd minute.
West Ham have not put a timeframe on the 33-year-old’s return, as he has only just started his recovery programme at Rush Green.
This is a huge blow for David Moyes. So far this season, Ogbonna has started all 11 Premier League games, so the Scot clearly trusts him.
The Italy international’s efforts have been huge in helping the Irons to third in the Premier League – he will be sorely missed.
Has Angelo Ogbonna played his last West Ham game?

This injury has come at a terrible time for Ogbonna.
The former Juventus man’s contract expires in June, and Calciomercato believed he was close to signing a fresh deal with the Hammers.
Now, however, it will be interesting to see if West Ham keep an offer on the table for the £70,000-a-week man.
Anterior cruciate ligament injuries are among the most serious in football, and can keep players out for up to nine months, if not longer in some cases.

In that respect, Ogbonna’s season could well be over, as could his West Ham career.
In the meantime, Kurt Zouma, Craig Dawson and Issa Diop will have to hold down the fort for Moyes.
For now, let’s see what the West Ham fans on Twitter have been saying about the news…
